Axl Rose has always been a huge fan of the rock band AC/DC. When we take a close look at him, we can find some similarities between the singing style of rose and the late Bon Scott and even with Brian Johnson. These groups have successfully attracted millions of fans worldwide and this might be a reason why they are some finest rock-n-roll artists.
Johnson experienced some hearing issues back in 2016, and that became an issue for the band. He temporarily stayed left AC/DC and Rose arrive to take his place. Johnson speaks about the time when Axl came as a replacement for him. He revealed that Axl did a great job in his place but he revealed that he couldn’t watch the performance of the band.
“It’s like finding a stranger in your house, sitting in your favorite chair”. said Johnson.
It might’ve felt that Axl was gonna take his place because he was a perfect choice and had the perfect voice to replace Johnson. Even the legendary guitarist, Slash praised for his work back in January 2022.
“I came out to a gig in London, and it was phenomenal,” Slash recalled. “I was blown away, especially when he sang the Bon Scott stuff. That was a very proud moment, actually.”
“The fact that he got asked to do that was very cool,” he continued. “And he worked his ass off doing it, too. He really adhered to the whole AC/DC regimen and pulled it off.”
“In the moment, when it first came up, it was a little jarring, I have to say,” Slash concluded. “I was super-proud that he was doing it, but how that was gonna happen and go right into the Guns thing, I really didn’t know. But anyway, it worked out. So it wasn’t like a big deal.”
AC/DC was on a tour and at that moment Axl was in his happiest form. It was shocking for the fans because, in April, Axl stopped at the Los Angeles Airport and answered the question that many fans were waiting to listen.
He finally revealed his favorite song of AC/DC, he told TMZ: “Right now, ‘Touch Too Much’.”
It’s no wonder why Axl picked that song as one of his favorites. ‘Touch Too Much’ has been a fan favorite song for all AC/DC listeners. With such a chorus, the song has been famous and it was also the last song of the band with Bon Scott before he passed away.
The single from 1979’s Highway to Hell, was a renowned song. From this, we can see that Bon Scott has left a huge impact on Axl Rose.
