Billy Joel and Sting inaugurated their joint tour with a bang on Saturday at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, treating fans to a plethora of hits and teaming up for two special duet performances.

The evening began with Sting performing a mix of 16 songs from both his solo career and his time with The Police. Billy Joel made a special appearance during the opening song, “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” and later, Shaggy, known for his work on the 44/876 project, joined Sting for “Englishman in New York” from the 1987 album …Nothing Like the Sun.
Billy Joel then took over, delivering a powerhouse set of 24 hits that spanned his illustrious career. Highlights included “My Life,” “Movin’ Out (Anthony’s Song),” “New York State of Mind,” and “Only the Good Die Young,” among others. Joel also performed his new single, “Turn the Lights Back On,” for the third time, and threw in a cover of the Rolling Stones’ “Start Me Up.” Sting returned the favor by joining Joel for “Big Man on Mulberry Street” from Joel’s 1986 album, The Bridge.
The dynamic duo plans to continue their collaborative performances throughout the year, with their next show set for April 13 at Petco Park in San Diego. Joel has a busy schedule with more than a dozen shows lined up until the end of the year, featuring special guests such as Stevie Nicks, Rod Stewart, and Chris Isaak at select venues. Meanwhile, Sting’s packed tour will take him across Europe from May through August.
