With that being said, let’s briefly talk about the popular guitarist and frontman of Pink Floyd, David Gilmour. He has such vast musical knowledge and creativity, well, it is not surprising because he is named one of the greatest of all time.

However, even the great of the great are inspired by someone or something, likewise, David Gilmour was also influenced by many music artists and bands. And one of the bands he really loves and is a fan of is the 1985-formed English band Radiohead Gilmour has even talked about this band in several interviews and he has also revealed his favorite album from Radiohead, we are here to find out what album that is.

What is David Gilmour’s favorite Radiohead album?

Both Pink Floyd and Radiohead are one of the greatest bands ever and it is really good to see one band member praising or talking good about another band. On March 28, 1994, Pink Floyd released their fourteenth album The Division Bell, and to promote their album Pink Floyd went on a tour for several months however, after their tour they were on a break.

Around the same time in 1995, Radiohead released their second studio album The Bends, and songs from the album including Just and My Iron Lung became really popular however, this album could not perform well outside the United Kingdom. And since Pink Floyd was on break David Gilmour must have plenty of time to listen to and see new music and what the music scene is like. Later on May 21, 1997, Radiohead came up with their third studio album OK Computer and it is considered one of the greatest albums of all time.

Gilmour had listened to either of Radiohead’s albums and when he was asked about OK Computer in an interview with Q Magazine, the famous musician said that he prefers The Bends. Gilmour said, “I’m a fan of Radiohead. They’re really good. Actually, I prefer the one before. What’s that one called? The Bends, that’s right.”

Undeniably, Radiohead is one of the most iconic and what people call the 21st century’s Beatles however, they must have felt great when one of the greatest musicians David Gilmour said he is their fan.

Furthermore, Radiohead did not stop after OK Computer because they came up with back-to-back bangers with their fourth studio album Kid A which they released on October 2, 2000. This album went number one on the US Billboard 200 as well as in the UK albums chart. They won Grammy Awards for this album and it has also been certified platinum in several countries.
