Elvis Presley: The last two songs The King sang in private performance hours before he died

Every music lovers know that Elvis Presley is considered the King of rock n roll. And it is really sad that the music star died at the age of 42 years old on August 16, 1977. Furthermore, there was news that hours before he died he performed at a private concert, and obviously it was the last time he performed live.

Furthermore, now the reports have it that Elvis’ cousin Billy Smith was at the private concert where Elvis performed and he revealed two last songs the King of rock n roll sang. So which songs did he perform? find more below in the article.

Two songs Elvis Presley performed before his death

As mentioned Presley’s cousin Billy, who is also a member of the Memphis Mafia [nickname of a group of Elvis Presley’s friends] was present at what would be Presley’s last ever live performance. It is applaudable that even with his ill health issue and alcohol problem he was able to give a proper performance.

Billy was in an interview with the Memphis Mafia Kid where he once again remembered his late cousin and his final performance. Moreover, he revealed that Presley performed “Unchained Melody” and “Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain” at the private concert. You can find Unchained Melody on Presley’s 1977 album Moody Blue and Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain on his 1976 released album From Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee.

As we are talking about Elvis’ live shows or concerts, on August 17 he had a concert. Billy revealed that after the private concert Elvis went to arrange for his upcoming concert however, not Billy nor Elvis know that it would be the last time they would talk to each other.

Billy mentioned that Elvis was really excited about his concert the day after but sadly the concert got canceled and the news of Elvis’ death came out that shook the whole world.

Well, it was a private concert that the King sang a few hours before his death but two months before he died, he was in his final public live show. On June 21 Presley performed in Rapid City, South Dakota. It was also captured by the camera for his live album. It was at this concert that Presley first introduced and sang Unchained Melody.

Furthermore, as per the report, he was not in his best health at the time however, his voice was still powerful enough to get the crowd to go crazy. You can check his last live show above where he forgot the words and laugh. He also looks really sweaty but there is no denying on his voice is magical.

It is really unfortunate that the world lost such a gem that too very soon. After his private concert, he went back to his mansion, and on the evening of that day, his girlfriend Ginger Alden found Elvis on the bathroom floor. According to Ginger Elvis’ skin was cold so she tried to wake him up by slapping and opening his eyes however, she said that his eyes were blood-red. He was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
