Dave Mustaine, the frontman of Megadeth, recently discussed his future with the band in an interview. He speculated that if new albums are released every two years, he might have a few more albums left in him. Mustaine highlighted the band’s upcoming anniversary tours, including the 25th or 30th anniversary of “Rust In Peace.”

He also mentioned advancements in modern medicine, like med beds, which could impact his ability to continue making music despite his challenges with chronic pain and his battle with cancer, which is currently in remission.

Mustaine shared his proactive approach to health, including regular training, cardio, and a healthy diet. He expressed optimism about living into his 80s or 90s, barring any unforeseen health issues. He revealed his throat cancer battle in June 2019 and underwent extensive treatment to overcome it.

Megadeth has recently seen changes in its lineup. The band performed with new guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari, replacing longtime guitarist Kiko Loureiro. Mäntysaari, a Finnish musician, joined Megadeth after playing in bands like Wintersun and Smackbound.

Megadeth’s latest album, “The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead!”, achieved significant success, reaching high positions on various charts worldwide. It was particularly successful in Finland, Australia, Poland, Switzerland, Scotland, the U.K., and the U.S. The band has previously had several top 10 entries on the Billboard 200 and received multiple Grammy nominations, winning “Best Metal Performance” for the title track of their 2016 album “Dystopia.”
