Metallica has had to reschedule their recent Glendale, AZ concert, announcing on their Facebook page that James Hetfield’s health was affected by a positive COVID test. In a statement from September 2nd, the band communicated the following:

“The Glendale show originally scheduled for September 3rd will now take place on September 9th. The reason for this change is due to James contracting COVID. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.”

The band further expressed their eagerness to be back on stage: “It’s disheartening to make these changes, but we’re eager to return for the M72 No Repeat Weekend next Saturday in Glendale.”

For those concerned about tickets, the band has ensured all original tickets will be valid for the rescheduled date: “Tickets from September 3rd will be valid for the September 9th performance. If you can’t attend the rescheduled show, details on refunds are available at Seat Geek. For more updates, keep an eye on Metallica.com and our social channels.”

Despite this setback, all other events associated with the M72 Tour for those dates will proceed as planned.

The M72 Tour continues to rock across the U.S., with upcoming performances in Arizona, California, and Missouri this fall. Check out Metallica’s official website for more details.
