Mick Mars Will Write His Autobiography On His Deathbed

Mick Mars, known for his time with Mötley Crüe, has been engrossed in working on his solo project titled ‘The Other Side Of Mars’ and navigating through legal disputes with his ex-bandmates. In a conversation with My Global Mind, Mars entertained the idea of penning an autobiography, envisioning it as a project for his twilight years. He humorously suggested writing it in reverse, so readers would start at the end if they wished to read it traditionally. This unique approach reflects Mars’ creative spirit.

Mars has been battling ankylosing spondylitis since his mid-20s, a condition that eventually led him to step back from touring with Mötley Crüe. This decision sparked a contentious legal fight with the band members he once called his brothers-in-arms.

Regarding the possibility of returning to live performances, Mars remains optimistic, albeit realistic about the challenges. In an early 2023 interview with Out Of The Box on Q104.3, he addressed the concerns of his fans longing to see him on stage again. Mars expressed his willingness to consider performing live under certain conditions, such as one-off shows or short residencies, which wouldn’t demand the strenuous travel that touring typically involves. At 72, Mars acknowledges the limitations his age and health condition impose on his ability to tour, especially when it comes to long flights to places like Japan.
