Introducing McCartney: A Life in Lyrics, an exciting new podcast that delves into the stories behind Paul McCartney’s greatest hits.

Hosted by McCartney himself and poet Paul Muldoon, this podcast offers listeners a unique opportunity to gain insight into the creative process and inspirations behind iconic songs from McCartney’s solo career, as well as his time with The Beatles and Wings.

The podcast is a result of over 50 hours of recorded conversations between McCartney and Muldoon during the writing of McCartney’s best-selling book, The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present.

These conversations captured McCartney’s thoughts and reflections in an unfiltered manner, providing a fascinating glimpse into his musical journey.

Each episode of McCartney: A Life in Lyrics focuses on a single song, such as “Eleanor Rigby,” “Let It Be,” and “Live and Let Die.”

McCartney and Muldoon discuss the song’s creation, the people involved, and the experiences that influenced its composition.

It’s like taking a trip down memory lane as McCartney revisits his work and shares his perspectives on songs he hadn’t thought much about in years.

The first season of the podcast, consisting of 12 episodes, will be released exclusively through Pushkin+.

However, for those without a Pushkin+ subscription, a new episode will be available weekly on popular streaming platforms like iHeartRadio, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify.

The inaugural season will premiere on 20 September, and fans can look forward to a second season starting in February 2024.
