Although we know that you guys don’t need any introduction to this esteemed drummer and musician, we can’t help but write his glories. And yes you already know who we are talking about here, Dave Grohl is the man. He has been in the music industry for more than three decades now and he is still making new music, what a legend.

Grohl first rose to fame after he joined the famous rock band Nirvana and the rest is history. After Nirvana broke up he formed his own band Foo Fighters and there is no stopping this guy. He has done many live shows and of course, has also collaborated with several music artists including Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Tom Petty, and many more.

Dave is also one of the kindest souls one can find, he always gives advice and suggestions to new musicians and bands. And one piece of advice that he often gives is to play live. He says, “Go play live. Just play live. I don’t understand the industry. I don’t understand where music is headed. I don’t really understand technology. I just know when you walk into a club and you see a band that blows you away, you are going to follow that band.”

Moreover, Grohl has always been the type of person who praises other bands and there is this one band that Grohl called their live act, the greatest of all time. So what did he say about this band, and before that, what band is that? let’s find out.

Greatest live act band according to Dave Grohl

Kyuss

The band we are talking about here is the American rock band Kyuss which was formed back in 1987. Although the band broke up in 1995 however, the impact this band left is not something that will be forgettable. Furthermore, this band was formed in Palm Desert, California, so they had to alter their recorded tracks to accurately replicate the desert mountains.

Talking about the band Dave Grohl said, “When they hit the stage, they’re the best rock band in the world, like nobody even gets close. There’s amazing live bands who write powerful songs like Rage Against the Machine. There’s amazing live bands that can make an audience go like this [makes mildly spasmodic hand gestures] like The Prodigy, but for musicality and as a musician, you sit and watch Queens of the Stone Age and you’re like, ‘That’s not fair, what the fuck?’ like everybody in the band is a fu**ing badass and they know it.”

Well, Grohl is not the only person who thinks Kyuss is amazing. The frontman of the Queens of the Stone Age, Josh Homme mentioned that Kyuss is really amazing and his band has also played with Kyuss. Kyuss was a band that plays live at various parties and events and talking about the band Homme said, “That was the shaping factor for the band. There’s no clubs here, so you can only play for free. If people don’t like you, they’ll tell you. You can’t suck.”
