Ann Wilson Singing Led Zeppelin Is ‘Way Better Than Robert Plant,’ Glenn Howerton Says

Glenn Howerton chose Heart’s Ann Wilson above Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant in a recent episode of “The Always Sunny Podcast” when the three hosts were debating their all-time favorite rock vocalist. Glenn Howerton said:

“My favorite rock vocalist is Ann, the vocalist of Heart. I think she’s the most incredible rock vocalist of all time, personally. I think her voice is unbelievable. Have you ever heard her do [Led] Zeppelin songs? It’s way better than Robert Plant; I’m sorry. She f*ckin’ slays Zeppelin.”

Glenn didn’t specify which Led Zeppelin cover he was referring to, but the one that caused the most controversy was when Ann and Nancy Wilson sang “Stairway to Heaven” at the Kennedy Center in 2012 as an homage to Led Zeppelin with Jason Bonham.

It was a smash with the band, and in 2020, Ann revealed to Guy ‘Favazz’ Favazza and John Ulett of St. Louis, Missouri radio station KSHE 95 that even Plant was impressed after the concert; she said:

Robert Plant said, ‘You know what? I’ve come to hate that song so much, ‘Stairway To Heaven,’ because everyone just murders it. But you guys did great.'”

Charlie Day and Rob McElhenney, Glenn’s co-hosts, each suggested a different rocker as their all-time favorite. Glenn, though, was resolute about his decision and added:

“I think she’s one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time. I think she blows all of the people that you f*cking named out of the f*cking water. She’s incredible.”
