James Marshall Hendrix, popular as Jimi Hendrix was one of the most influential musicians of all time. His music career (mainstream) was only four years however, he was able to leave such masterpieces including Hey Joe, Purple Haze, and Voodoo Child (Slight Return). Even though he remained in mainstream music for only a few years he became one of the music legends as he changed the music scene forever.
On September 18, 1970, Hendrix died in Notting Hill, London, United Kingdom. After postmortem, it was found out that Hendrix died of aspiration by his own vomit causing asphyxia. It was also mentioned that it happened while he was intoxicated with a drug.

Hendrix performed his final concert in Fehmarn, Germany, on September 6, 1970. Although every musician tries and gives their best in concert or any live event, the final concert of Jimi Hendrix didn’t really go as he planned because as soon as he went on stage the audience started to boo at him.
So why did the audiences start booing the legendary musician? did he do something to offend the crowd? maybe, Hendrix was supposed to play on September 5 at 8 pm however, the weather was so bad, and moreover, the Hells Angels motorcycle gang was causing trouble and there were also gunshots.
Because of this condition, Hendrix had to cancel his show and reschedule it for September 6. And when he went on the stage everyone started saying boo and go home. However, it didn’t take long for Hendrix to make it up to the crowd because just after playing one song he won the audience.
Jimi Hendrix’s last words
As mentioned above, Hendrix died of aspiration from his own vomit. So what were his last words? he left a message to his manager Chas Chandler where he said, “I need help bad, man.” Furthermore, days after he was dead, a poem was found that was written by him.
“The story of life is quicker than the wink of an eye/The story of love is hello and goodbye, until we meet again.” After reading this Eric Burdon stated that it was a suicide note however, he later took his words back and said he read the words wrong.
This music legend died on September 18 and shortly after a few days after his death, he was buried at Greenwood Cemetery. Even after his death, his music lives and keeps his legacy alive. Fans can even visit his museum Handel & Hendrix in London.
