Nita Strauss Addresses Online Criticism: The Hidden Face of Internet Trolls

Nita Strauss, the renowned American guitar hero known for her work with Alice Cooper, as well as collaborations with Demi Lovato and her solo projects, recently shared her thoughts on the pervasive issue of “online trolls” in a candid interview.

In a conversation with Jorge Botas from Metal Global, Strauss revealed, “I actually wrote a song about this topic. It’s called ‘Digital Bullets’ and will be featured on my upcoming album, ‘The Call Of The Void.’ Chris Motionless from Motionless In White is also part of the song. It delves into the world of these online trolls who cowardly shoot ‘digital bullets.’

They would never dare to confront you face-to-face with comments like ‘You’re terrible,’ ‘You’re a slut,’ or ‘You’re just after money.’ I’ve never had anyone say such things to me in person, but on social media, it’s a different story.

It’s filled with statements like, ‘I hope you die in a fire’ [laughs]. There are people who play tough on the internet, but this behavior is nothing new and unfortunately won’t disappear anytime soon.”

She further shared an insightful comment from her boyfriend, saying, “He once told me something that was hurtful but eye-opening. He said, ‘You know, nobody approaches you in the street to spit in your face or be rude to you. It’s all fake, happening solely online.'”

Nita Strauss’ highly anticipated album, ‘The Call Of The Void,’ is set to release this Friday, July 7th, via Sumerian Records. While waiting, you can enjoy or revisit her single, “Victorious,” featuring Dorothy.
