Noel Gallagher Calls Sam Smith “A F***ing Idiot”.

During a recent interview with Dutch radio station Kink, Noel Gallagher shared his thoughts on the current state of the music industry. Using Sam Smith as an example, the musician expressed his opinion on what he perceived as a problem.

As he promotes his own upcoming album with High Flying Birds, titled “Council Skies,” the former Oasis vocalist answered various questions about the industry. Gallagher’s comments were particularly critical of pop musicians and their dominant presence in the mainstream.

The musician expressed his thoughts regarding the current state of the music industry, asserting that it has become “fragmented” with the overwhelming prevalence of pop songs in the charts. He further noted that if the current crop of pop stars were to possess a certain degree of appeal, he would not have any qualms, yet he opined that such appeal was lacking in the present scenario.

“Music has become quite fractured, and chart music is dominated by pop. Pop music is alright if the pop stars are cool. Sadly the pop stars of today are f***ing idiots.”

When questioned to identify the individuals he was referring to, Gallagher cited Sam Smith as an instance but inadvertently used masculine pronouns ‘he/him,’ misrepresenting the pop singer’s gender. Nevertheless, the musician’s disapproval centered around Smith’s music rather than his gender identity. Gallagher categorized Smith as one of the “unhip” pop stars.

“Sam Smith. Look at him.”

Noel Gallagher articulated his discerning attitude towards the present-day mainstream and the performers who reign over it owing to their unmerited music and lackluster performance. He asserts that Sam Smith and the majority of pop stars presently holding sway on the charts epitomize what is awry with modern music.
