There might be very few people who don’t know about the Beatles and its members especially John Lennon and Paul McCartney. They both are phenomenon music artists and their music is well known to millions of people if not billions. Not only their music but their feud is also known well known to the world.

Although the two of them started their feud, they were really good friends and loved each other. So, as good friends, they knew their weaknesses and problems. And that is certainly what we are discussing in this piece.

Love Me Do is one of the greatest tracks of the Beatles that was originally released in 1962 in the United Kingdom and similarly, two years after in 1964 in the United States. This song shows the beautiful and great partnership of John and Paul’s songwriting. However, about this song both Lennon and McCartney had or have different opinions.

John Lennon’s biggest problem

According to Paul, Love Me Do was written by him and John Lennon. Talking about this song, Paul once said, “Love Me Do’ was completely co-written. It was just Lennon and McCartney sitting down without either of us having a particularly original idea. We loved doing it, it was a very interesting thing to try and learn to do, to become songwriters. I think why we eventually got so strong was we wrote so much through our formative period.”

However, according to John Lennon, this was McCartney’s song. Love Me Do’ is Paul’s song. “I do know he had the song around, in Hamburg, even, way, way before we were songwriters,” Lennon said about their song love me do. Furthermore, in 1972 also John talked about this song and said, “Paul wrote the main structure of this when he was 16, or even earlier. I think I had something to do with the middle.”

As mentioned Paul and John both had their opinion about the song. Paul also stated in the same interview, “Love Me Do’ was our first hit, which ironically is one of the two songs that we control because when we first signed to EMI, they had a music publishing company called Ardmore and Beechwood which took the two songs, ‘Love Me Do’ and ‘P.S. I Love You’, and in doing a deal somewhere along the way, we were able to get them back.”

Well, because of both singers’ different statements and opinions, as much as polar this song is it also remains the Beatles’ confusing chronicles. Now let’s move on and talk about John Lennon’s biggest problem according to Paul McCartney.

Paul appeared on the Penguin Podcast where he discussed various things related to the Beatles its members and other sorts however, one thing he talked about was his friend John Lennon’s biggest problem. McCartney said that John always what people would think about him after he passes away. He said, “I remember John saying to me once, ‘What are people going to think of me when I’m dead? I wonder if they’ll like me.”

Paul then said that he replied, “And I said, Now just you stop. Listen to me. People are going to go crazy, people love you. And they’re going to love you more.”

And it is too obvious Paul was correct about that because even after more than four decades after his death he is still remembered. Not only remember but he is listed as one of the greatest musicians ever. And really, we don’t even have to say that Paul McCartney is no different he is legendary in his own style and we want him to know that he has done an amazing job as a musician and both John and Paul’s music will be passed down from generation to generation.
