Sammy Hagar Admits He’s Not Very Successful Without Eddie Van Halen On His Side

Sammy Hagar recently opened up to Variety about his collaborative process with fellow musicians like Eddie Van Halen and Joe Satriani, acknowledging that he thrives creatively when working alongside others. In his own words:

“I’ve never been one to boast, but I truly believe I’m at my best when collaborating. When I write with Eddie or Joe, the synergy elevates the music beyond what I could achieve solo.”

This sentiment was echoed by Joe Satriani during a conversation with ‘The Hook Rocks,’ where he drew comparisons between Hagar and David Lee Roth:

“Sammy approaches music with a sense of inclusivity, actively addressing conflicts that may hinder the creative process. It’s like he says, ‘Let’s tackle ‘Ain’t Talkin’ ‘Bout Love’ together.’ Compare that to asking David Lee Roth about performing ‘5150’ – it’s a different story.”

In an exciting development, Hagar and Satriani are set to reunite on stage for a summer 2024 tour, dubbed ‘Best Of All Worlds.’ Joining them will be Michael Anthony and Jason Bonham, promising an electrifying lineup.

While Hagar extended an invitation to David Lee Roth and Alex Van Halen for the reunion, it seems the collaboration may only materialize for a brief appearance, as indicated by Hagar’s remarks regarding the potential for a short performance.
