Legendary Rock artist Ted Nugent has been rocking the world with his songs for more than half a century. The Amboy Dukes’ guitarist Ted, has been busy with various political reasons as he has taken his fame in more political ways.

Ted, an active activist has been very invested in the politics of America often talking about Gun rights and Animal rights.

This American rockstar started out with The Amboy Dukes and went on to release 17 solo studio albums in his career which is still going on. He has undeniably contributed a lot to the world of Rock n Roll, Rock, and whatnot. Himself being a rockstar for so long, we the fans have all been longing to know about his best Heavy Metal Bands for a very long time.

While Ted doesn’t really talk about his preference for music anywhere, recently in an interview with AntiHero Magazine, he talked about some heavy metal bands he loves. The interview was about his new single release, ‘Come and Take It’.

As mentioned above, Ted has been an active activist in a lot of fields. Some prominent ones are Gun Rights and Animal Rights. He is into politics and seems to be making a footprint with all these roles. Also, the new single, ‘Come and Take It’ is a ‘patriotic rock anthem’, according to Nugent reflecting his love for his country.

In the AntiHero Magazine, he talked about heavy metal bands, and as a rockstar who has been in the game for so long, he was really excited to talk about them. Also, he went on to reveal his top heavy metal bands. He revealed Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Metallica are the ones, and he is a fan.

According to him, “Well, there’s other bands. I fail to mention a lot, like Triumph out of Canada. How about Iron Maiden? I mean, I’m not a heavy metal fan, but their music is so infectious because they believe, they are honest with their music, and their musical adventure is just some of the best music in the world.

We could go on and name so many bands. I love what Judas Priest did.

I love all these different bands. Metallica. I mean, again, I’m not a fan of heavy metal, but I am when they put rhythm in it, and certainly Iron Maiden and Metallica, and so many of those bands are so rhythmical and so authoritative, and you can tell they practice. They put their heart and soul into it, so Chuck Berry is in there. There’s a Howlin’ Wolf in there too.”

Being what he is, his songs are also covered by many famous artists throughout the world, and during the interview with Meltdown of Detroit’s WRIF radio station, he was asked to name the best cover. Initially, he was asked about the cover of, ‘Cat Scratch Fever’ but he simply replied that he has no favorite version of that song. After that, he went on to say that he loves Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth.

He responded with, “Unfortunately, I never have,” He added, “I’ve heard the versions of ‘Cat Scratch Fever’, and I love Pantera and I love Lemmy and I love the Ramones, but God, are they terminally Caucasian or what?

“There’s a real Motown soulfulness to what me and my boys deliver; there’s a grunt and a grind. And I love musicians who put their heart and soul into stuff — I love Metallica and I love Slayer and I love Megadeth and I love ’em all.

“But when I listen to music, I wanna hear a groove; I wanna hear some grunt. I wanna hear the bass and drums of Motown like Greg [Smith] and Jason [Hartless] create, what Johnny Badanjek and Earl Elliott created, like what Cliff Davies and Rob Grange created, what Jack Blades and Michael Cartellone created, what Carmine Appice and Tim Bogert… You know what I mean?”

Ted, over the years, has given us insights into his type of music. Being a rocker as he is, he has been taking part in all the events that surround him. From commenting on his best covers to his very best heavy metal bands.

Ted’s single, ‘Come and Take It’ is available to listen to, on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, and various other platforms.
