There is a saying that children follow in their parent’s footsteps. And this saying has been proven right by the children of various successful music artists. We can take Dhani Harrison for example, he is the son of the quiet Beatle, George Harrison, and he is also a musician just like his father. Furthermore, Paul McCartney’s son James McCartney also followed the path of his father.

These two are only two examples of some musicians’ children following their parents’ footsteps. However, there are a whole lot like them. And it seems that just like James and Dhani, one of Dave Grohl‘s daughters Violet Maye Grohl is keen on becoming a music artist just like her father.

In fact, she has already performed in a few concerts. Moreover, she was also featured in one of her father’s founded band Foo Fighter’s songs.

The Foo Fighters’ song that features Dave’s daughter Violet

It seems that Dave is really proud and supports his daughter’s decision to pursue a music career. While everyone has their own way of supporting others, Dave seems to have shown his support to his daughter by featuring in one of  Foo Fighters’ songs. Back in 2021, they released their tenth studio album Medicine at Midnight which included a song, “Making a Fire.”

And the first line we hear in the opening of the song “Na-Na-Na” was sung by none other than Violet. As per the reports, Greg Kurstin who is the producer of the band even insisted Dave pay Violet a fee for her vocals. However, he told Greg, “You can take that money and give it to me, and I’ll put it in an account for Violet that she can open when she’s 18 years old!”

Violet is just 16  years old and she’s already going places, and it is only natural for fans for wanting to see and hear her more. However, this is not the only time she worked with her father, she also paid tribute to Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins at a Taylor Hawkins tribute concert at London’s Wembley Stadium.

At the concert, Violet covered three of Jeff Buckley’s songs Last Goodbye, Hallelujah, and Grace. Furthermore, before calling Violet on the stage Dave described her as “the only person I know who can actually sing a Jeff Buckley song.” Moreover, Violet was accompanied by Alain Johannes, Chris Chaney, and her father. She also sang Amy Winehouse’s popular track, Valerie.

However, it was not her first time on the stage, back in 2018 she was at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals benefit concert where she shared the stage with her father and sang Adele’s When We Were Young. She was really amazing and Dave also revealed that Violet told him, “you’re not the best singer in the family.” He then added, “and she’s right.” Furthermore, they also revealed that they performed Adele’s song at a school function.

Watching her sing is really soothing and if she really chooses to be a musician then there is no stopping her, her singing ability is amazing and she certainly will become a successful music artist just like her father.
