Ace Frehley, the former guitarist of KISS, recently shared his thoughts about the band and its fan base in an interview with SiriusXM’s ‘Trunk Nation’. He noted a difference in the awareness levels of KISS fans and his own fans, recounting instances where people asked him for KISS tickets despite his departure from the band in 2002.

Ace Frehley also expressed his surprise at how his exit was handled by KISS, mentioning that his replacement, Tommy Thayer, donned his makeup, possibly leading fans to believe Frehley was still in the band.

Following his separation from KISS, Frehley pursued a solo career while KISS continued their journey with Thayer. The band recently concluded a four-year farewell tour, with their final show on December 2 at Madison Square Garden. Despite not being part of this tour, Frehley watched one of their farewell performances online and criticized the use of canned vocals, especially by Paul Stanley during the song “Love Gun.”

As KISS wrapped up their farewell tour, Frehley expressed his relief but also acknowledged the band’s future endeavors. The final concert ended with a spectacular display, hinting at a new era for KISS. Pophouse Entertainment announced their involvement in KISS’ upcoming virtual shows, signaling a shift in how the band will continue to engage with its audience.
