Rick Allen just shared an update on Instagram and stated that he needs a break from the constant gigs and tiresome flying as Def Leppard continues to tour with Mötley Crüe.
In a video he posted online before their show in Hannover, the drummer said:
“It is me. I’m actually outside, as you noticed. Mötley Crüe is on behind me. Nikki Sixx is actually saying a few words, but I may have got it wrong last night. We are in Hannover right now. So I’m not sure. There is a lot of traveling on this. So I may have got it wrong. I made a mistake, which isn’t like me at all. But yes, plenty of you were curious. That would be wrong. A lot of it. There is somebody behind me at the moment.”
Allen then expressed his need for a break, “So yeah, I’m looking forward to a couple of days off. I definitely need the rest. That’s for sure. And I’ll see everybody out there, and I guess I will be seeing you on the other side. I leave you with thanks to everybody. I had fantastic comments on all of these videos. And I really do appreciate it. So, thank you, guys.”
The Def Leppard drummer had promised the crowd that he would continue the tour despite the horrible attack he endured in March. As a result, he performed on stage with his band for the European concerts, which began on May 22 in Sheffield, England. The members of Leppard and Crüe finally got a few days free following their performance on June 3 in Hannover before their performance on June 7 in Sölvesborg, Sweden.
