Jim Morrison was the lead vocalist of the rock band The Doors. Although rock fans don’t need any introduction to this rock legend, we are still going to talk briefly about him.
Jim Morrison was also known as the Lizard King. On July 3, 1971, in Paris, France, Morrison was found dead in a bathtub. He was just 27 years old at the time of his death.
And since he is still considered a rock n roll legend, a question arises, how did he die? And that too at such young age? well, it is said that Morrison died of congestive heart failure.
How did Jim Morrison really die?
As mentioned above, on July 3, 1971, he was found dead in a bathtub at his apartment in Paris by his girlfriend Pamela Courson.
As per the report, Morrison had a heart attack because of heroin however, according to the sources, he did not like heroin he’d get sick although he was a heavy cocaine user.
Morrison moved to Paris with his girlfriend in 1971 as he had had enough of his stardom.
According to the reports, one night he went to his apartment where he saw his girlfriend with some powder, and when he asked about it, she said it was cocaine, however, in reality, it was heroin.
Because Morrison was told that it was cocaine, he snorted it, and instantly after that, he had a heart attack.
Seeing that Pam went to get help and put him (Morrison) in warm water, however, things went out of hand resulting in Morrison’s death.
However, some also say that he did not have a heart attack immediately after he took the drug but he coughed blood and went to take a bath where he got a heart attack.
Furthermore, there is also another story that people believe to be true.
Morrison and Pam used to go to nightclubs frequently and there are people who state that Morrison did not die in his apartment but he died at the nightclub.
Moreover, an autopsy was not conducted as the reason was pretty clear however since there are various rumors about his death, people find his death mysterious. Moreover, there are even people who claim that Morrison faked his death and is alive.
Three years after Morrison’s death Pamela Courson (Morrison’s girlfriend) also died due to a heroin overdose on April 25, 1974, at the age of 27.

However, in the hotel apartment where Morrison died, his handwritten poem was found.
The poem was written on a page of a notebook that was torn out and the poem. In the poem, he wrote, “I have drunk the drug of forgetfulness.”
Furthermore, you can read the full poem in the picture above. Back in 2015, his poem was actioned and during the time it was actioned, his poem was said to reach $60,000 and $80,000.
