The Rolling Stones has been around for six decades and is still going. They have been touring and still making music even after all this time. The lineup is still strong with very few changes. Also, they have been able to maintain their sound.

There are many reasons that call it quits for bands. Old age is one of them as it’s hard for veteran rockers to perform shows. With the need for physical effort and high tension, it’s hard to keep the ball going on in the game. But with the recently announced Rolling Stones tours, they aren’t retiring any time soon.

For the most part, Mick Jagger himself. He is still an outstanding performer despite his age. At 79 years, the singer is still out there on the stage working his butt off. On top of that, his mesmerizing voice has been the same. He does work out to keep his physical shape in balance. Mick also practices a lot for stage performances.

With all these happening, looks like Jon Bon Jovi has a different view on this part of the story. Two years ago in 2020, when Bon was speaking with San Diego Union, he was asked to discuss rock and roll. The interviewer discussed whether rock could grow old adroitly. Also what the interviewer asked was if he could paint in the same style he has as the Rolling Stones.

The singer said, “I think the Stones are a great example.” He continued, “For me, though, I wish they’d retire for one reason: At least then, I’d know where the end zone is! They are still an amazing live band.” It was quite a surprise for everyone as no one would really like The Rolling Stones to retire. Bon Jovi also added,

“You brought up Bruce [Springsteen] earlier, and he’s obviously a great entertainer. [Paul] McCartney is still touring all the time and had a new album out last year. If you want to think of U2, who are our age, they are obviously a great touring rock band. The Eagles are another great example of a touring band that is still singing and playing great. So, yeah, I do think rock can grow old gracefully.”

When asked if he’d still be out in the arenas into his 70s, he said, “I hope not. My goal is to do it as well as I’ve done it or better, just not to hurt the legacy. Nobody loved the fat Elvis. You’re not going to see that with me. I’d walk away before that happens.”

Bon Jovi surely loves to play live shows. He wishes the Rolling Stones to stop at one point because that would mean he could have a guide to his own ‘end zone’. Looks like, Jovi will retire at the same age as The Rolling Stones as he looks up to them as his guide. Although looks like the Rolling Stones are still good to go for many more years, which could sound troubling for Bon Jovi.

Jimi Hendrix was the rock star who shined brightest of all. Sadly, after his untimely death on September 18, 1970, he became part of the 27 club. His music career only lasted for four years however, during those years, he changed the whole music scene by combining various music styles and creating a new form of music.

Hendrix was not just any music artist, he had magic in his hands, and fans could see and hear his magic when he played guitar. Certainly, he was a pioneer of the electric guitar and although he is no more, his stardom still remains the same.

As a songwriter, Hendrix wrote and recorded more than 170 songs. He was undoubtedly a music lover and we can say that his life began with music and ended with music as well because he wrote a poem the night before his demise.

Jimi Hendrix wrote a poem before his untimely death

Jimi was a party animal and it has been reported that the night before his death, he was partying until 3. Hendrix’s last girlfriend Monika Dannemann stated that she had prepared dinner for the two of them at her apartment. Hendrix who was partying returned to Dannemann’s apartment where they had a long conversation.

He also wrote down a short poem to pay tribute to her. Hendrix wrote, “The story of Jesus/So easy to explain/After they crucified him/A woman, she claimed his name / […] The story of life is quicker than the wink of an eye/The story of love is hello and goodbye, until we meet again.”

As mentioned, it is said that Hendrix wrote this poem to pay tribute to his girlfriend Monika. According to Tony Brown’s book, Jimi Hendrix: The Final Day, Hendrix gave the poem to Monika and asked her to keep it forever with her. “I want you to keep this forever. I don’t want you to forget anything that is written. It’s a story about you and me,” Hendrix told his girlfriend.

Hendrix’s friend Eric Burdon, however, thought that it was not only a poem but also a suicide note but later he said that he read the words wrong.

Hendrix wanted to change his lifestyle

It is not a secret that Hendrix was a heavy drug and alcohol user, this habit of his was also responsible for his untimely death. However, he wished to change his lifestyle, and he had a good reason to do so as he once got kidnapped for two days and did not even know it.

His manager Chas Chandler stated that the last time Hendrix called him, he asked to help him. Chandler said, “I need help bad, man,” was the last words from Jimi.

Sadly, he could not fulfill his wish and died at the young age of 27 years old. The day he died, he went to his girlfriend’s apartment as mentioned where they talked for a long time. Later, Monika found Hendrix unresponsive although he was breathing so she immediately called for help and they took him to St Mary Abbot’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead by Dr. John Bannister.

More than 200 people visited his funeral and later Hendrix’s earthly body was buried at Greenwood Cemetery. In honor of Hendrix and music composer George Frideric Handel, a museum Handel & Hendrix in London was opened where fans can visit to see the musicians’ works.

Furthermore, ten days after his death, his autopsy report was out and it stated that Hendrix choked on his own vomit and died of asphyxia. It also stated that Hendrix was intoxicated with barbiturates.

He will always remain in our hearts and prayers, although his musical career was short, he still was able to inspire many other musicians including Pink Floyd.

Since the mid-50s the era of rock music started and by the time of the 60s rock music industry was already evolving and had many sub-genres including blues. Furthermore, there were numerous music artists everywhere so the music industry was heading at rocket speed and evolving.

Several bands changed the rock music industry for good and one of the bands that were really ahead of its time is the Rolling Stones. They were one of the finest and top bands ever produced by Britain because not many British bands were ahead of American bands and this was the band that broke the United States charts.

Later in the 60s several outstanding British bands started coming out with new and different rock genres. However, the Rolling Stones stick with to blues and continued rocking. Keith Richards, the founding member, and guitarist of the Rolling Stones is certainly a great musician with great knowledge of blues.

There might be no one on this planet who will dare to say Richards is not a good musician because he is a key member of one of the greatest bands ever. Not to mention he is considered the master of the guitar. With all his music knowledge he finds a few bands really outstanding, let’s look into the bands which are the best bands in the world according to Keith Richards.

These are the bands that Keith Richards listed as the best of all time

Richards has always spoken his mind and when he was asked what bands he considers the best in the world he named several bands one of the bands he named was none other than the band that was said to be the Rolling Stones’ rival, The Beatles. He said, “The Beatles, obviously. I mean, I sort of throw them in, obvious. I’m always caught with that ‘you’re top 5 favorites’ and everything because I realize I’m gonna leave people out. The other one is The X-Pensive Winos [laughs].

Another band that he said is the best in the world is Elvis Band. Talking about it Richards said, “I would start personally with probably The Hillbily Cats, Elvis band. The most amazing stuff and it was very early on.” He seems to love the band because he even praised the band saying that they were really amazing and it was something like the world turned colorful from black and white.

Furthermore, Richards also said that he always liked the band Small Faces and Humble Pie. Keith told, “I always liked Steve Marriott, very much from the English point of view. You know, The Small Faces and then he had Humble Pie.” Moreover, when Steve Marriott was in an interview with Best Classic Bands back in 1983 he said that Keith is the only one who he keeps in touch with and wants to talk to. He further said that Keith was always there for him no matter what.

It is really said that Steve died at the age of only 44 years old. He passed away on April 20, 1991. He died in a fire accident, reports have it that Steve lit a cigarette and fell asleep because he was drunk and tired. Furthermore, it took four fire trucks to put out the fire.

Lastly, Richards said that the band he thinks is the best is Dave Bartholomew’s band. Talking about Bartholomew’s band he said, “At the same time (as Elvis’ band) then Dave Bartholomew’s band that back up Little Richard, Fats Domino, that was a great band.”

Sadly, both Elvis and Dave are no longer with us. While Elvis died back on August 16, 1977, due to heart failure, Dave also died of heart failure on June 23, 2019, at the age of 100 years old.

Bruce Hornsby will forever be known for the hit pop song of 1986 ‘The Way It Is’. The soft rock hero was to put a hold on his own career and joined the rock band The Grateful Dead. The oddest lineup in the history of music, Bruce and the band went on to achieve great heights no one else could.

Bruce was already a fan of the band. His brother also had a Grateful Dead cover band. Hornsby had also opened for the Grateful Dead a number of times. When Grateful Dead Keyboardist Brent Mydland accidentally overdosed and died, the group was in shambles. They had yet to finish their run of shows at Madison Square Garden. Bruce had guested with the Dead at a number of shows ranging years between 1988 and 1990. While the first option after such chaos in the band would have been the cancellation of the tour but they had the perfect replacement.

Hornsby with The Wall Street Journal in 2015 said, “The morning after he died, I was in Seattle walking down the street and someone came up to me on the street – Brent hadn’t been gone nine hours – and someone came up to me and said, ‘Hey Bruce, you joining the Dead?'” He added, “It was so insane. The next week, Garcia and Phil [Lesh] came to my show at the Concord Pavilion and asked me to do it.”

Joining the band meant that he had to put a hold on his own solo career. And he had pulled a lot of hard work, a whole decade. That’s when he proposed a different concept. “I stated, ‘I’ll definitely provide help to out by this time, ’trigger I do know that is tough, however, I’ve bought this factor of my very own going fairly nicely. I’ve spent numerous times making an attempt to get this factor off the bottom, and it’s off the bottom now. If this had occurred in 1984, then I’d have lived fortunately ever after being your piano participant'”. Bruce explained in the e-book This Is All a Dream We Dreamed. He added,

“In 1990, I had 4 or 5 years of good success in my very own group, so I did that. I informed them they wanted to search for somebody everlasting.”

The band added Vince Welnick, former keyboardist for The Tubes, and Todd Rundgren. He could replicate himself with the band’s vocal blend. He auditioned and assumed that his main work was with the piano there. Then, there was two keyboard lineup in the Grateful Dead.

However, by 1991, the band started to function totally as a band. Bom Weir explained, “Bruce is spectacularly colorful and real playful, And Vince is finally becoming real solid. He’s starting to become a real fixture. His influence on the music is subtler right now, but as pervasive as Bruce’s. Vince is a little more integrated into what we’re doing now than I see Bruce becoming. Bruce more or less imposes his personality on the band – which is not a band thing at all. Vince has been endeavoring to become one of us, whereas Bruce is just playing with us.”

Bruce had his own music career on the back. He told The Los Angeles Times, “I loved playing with them for more than a year and a half, more than 100 shows, and I just had twins and want to spend more time with them, and I want to focus on my own music again.”

Before he left the band, Hornsby expressed his dissatisfaction. It was with the live structure approach to music. He pointed out to ‘Space’. In ‘This is All a Dream We Dreamed’ he explained, “In the end, I said it was time for Vince to be the guy, time for me to go, They understood; they said ‘fine.'”

Bruce shared, “‘Space’ to me was a situation where sometimes it was really amazing, and a lot of times it was not. It was a real hit-or-miss proposition, I think the Dead would say the same thing. Sometimes ‘Space’ would get into some great things, other times I’d be sitting there, ‘I don’t really see where this is going…”

He continued on sharing, “‘Space’ to me was a situation where sometimes it was really amazing, and a lot of times it was not. It was a real hit-or-miss proposition, I think the Dead would say the same thing. Sometimes ‘Space’ would get into some great things, other times I’d be sitting there, ‘I don’t really see where this is going…”

He shared that the improvision of the music was something very hard. He said, “I know a lot of players in the jazz world who play freely, and a lot of them tell me, ‘More times than not, we’re up there scuffling to find something to play together.’ This was no different. If there’s no structure, it makes it much harder for the music to be coherent and have meaning.”

By the looks of it, looks like the band’s non-confrontational attitude helped in Bruce’s desire to move on. He said, “I’m all for playing freely, but I’ve been in too many instances where I’ve thought that the level of listening was not up to the demands that are required for this sort of playing to really be meaningful. Sometimes I felt that there were real conversations going on between people, and other times I didn’t.”

Finally, Hornsby decided to depart in 1992. Still, Bruce occasionally sat with the Dead and jammed his way out. He also inducted the band in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993. He also enthusiastically joined the career-closing Fare Thee Well reunion show in 2015. There was never anything like a Grateful Dead concert, and there probably still isn’t,” Bruce revealed to Daily Press. “That was the archetype of the jam artist. That was the paradigm.”

The Australian rock band AC/DC has influenced the way of rock. The lead guitarist Angus Young is without a doubt a very defining guitarist. Only a few bands have represented heavy rock as AC/DC. The tenacious spirit of the founding brothers Malcolm and Angus Young totally changed the way of rock.

The guitarist Angus Young, has been a guitar icon for so long. The brothers surely took inspiration from rock bands like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. Being the legend he is, Chuck Berry was recently named his ‘Rock God’.

Before all this in 2001, when he was asked what music gets his “toes tapping”. He said, “I plug into a lot of old rock and roll,” he replied. “Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Little Richard, and Jerry Lee Lewis. I love all that stuff. In fact, if I get a chance and I’m on my way to a gig, I’ll put one of their tapes on. Because they’re good vibe meters, and I still get off on them.”

Speaking on The Rock Show with Johnnie Walker during the ‘Rock God’ segment. He said, “Chuck Berry was probably one of the great guitar people for rock and roll. He combined a lot of elements — he combined blues, a bit of jazz, and his own unique style,”

“He melded all these kinds of different genres of music, but he seemed to bring it together and bring it out and it [came] out in that rock and roll style — so plain and simple, but it was so effective.”

He revealed his past and said when he was a kid he was not much of a guitar player. Not until about 12 years of age. Angus said, “I could play guitar a little bit, but I really got focused on it around the years when I was about 12 into my teenage years, I started to focus more on it. And around when I was about 13 or 14, that’s when Jimi Hendrix appeared on the horizon.”

In the early days of the band, the original vocalist of AC/DC died from acute alcohol poisoning. That’s when the band got hold of English singer Brian Johnson and replaced him. Scott also said that he sounded like his hero Little Richard.

“I remember the first time I had ever heard Brian’s name was from Bon,” guitarist Angus remembered in an interview with BraveWords. “Bon had mentioned that he had been in England once touring with a band, and he had mentioned that Brian had been in a band called Geordie and Bon had said ‘Brian Johnson, he was a great rock and roll singer in the style of Little Richard.’ And that was Bon’s big idol, Little Richard”.

“I think when he saw Brian at that time, to Bon, it was, ‘Well, he’s a guy that knows what rock and roll are all about.’ He mentioned that to us in Australia. I suppose when we decided to continue, Brian was the first name that Malcolm and myself came up with, so we said we should see if we can find him.”

Angus has always been Chuck Berry’s fan. He has a very soft spot for his icon. Also, he imitated his famous ‘Duckwalk’ and it is something that people recognize besides his schoolboy attire.

The Fab Four was the epitome of British rock and roll music. When the Beatles disbanded in 1970, the news shook the world as the famous band had been obliterated. The tension was real and the band was in its rocky ways. After the death of their manager Brian Epstein, there was a big gap.

George Harrison had problems with Paul over album space and John’s heroin addiction and the romantic circle of Yoko Ono, everything contributed to the band’s break. In the 70s and everyone in the Beatles was pursuing their own solo career. The lingering resentment was seen even in the early days with McCartney. While Lennon and garrison were close and worked on Imagine Together.

Despite all those, those feelings were inevitably cut off. The group was affectionate with each other even after the breakup. They often praised each other’s skills. In 1972 Lennon did the same and talked about his partner’s songwriting abilities. He picked out his favorite McCartney songs.

He pointed out ‘Hey Jude’ as his all-time favorite. He said, “That’s his best song, It started off as a song about my son Julian because Paul was going to see him. Then he turned it into ‘Hey Jude’. I always thought it was about me and Yoko, but he said it was about him and his.”

He also explained about it in his 1980 Playboy interview. He explained, “He said it was written about Julian,” John opined. “He knew I was splitting with Cyn and leaving Julian then. He was driving to see Julian, to say hello. He had been like an uncle. And he came up with ‘Hey Jude.’ But I always heard it as a song to me.”

“Now I’m sounding like one of those fans reading things into it… Think about it: Yoko had just come into the picture. He is saying. ‘Hey, Jude’—’Hey, John.’ Subconsciously, he was saying, ‘Go ahead, leave me.’ On a conscious level, he didn’t want me to go ahead. The angel in him was saying, ‘Bless you.’ The devil in him didn’t like it at all because he didn’t want to lose his partner.”

He also revealed another song he loved. It was the classic song ‘Here There and Everywhere’. It was in the album Revolver. He said, “This was a great one of his, That’s Paul’s song completely, I believe. And one of my favorite songs of the Beatles.” McCartney himself later remarked that it “was the only song that John ever complimented me on.” It is also one of the songs McCartney ranks among his personal favorites.”

Another song that appeared on the list was ‘All My Loving’. He called it “a damn good piece of work.”

The final song he talked about was ‘Oh! Darling’. He even went on to say, “I should have written that song; it sounds like a song I’d written.” That was a great praise from Lennon. It suggested that he respected and adored his fellow partner.

Listen to Oh! Darling down below.

Pink Floyd is known and distinguished for its psychedelic works. The leading band in the genre of progressive rock, they became one of the greatest bands of all time. The band was full of brain-storming solos, and uplifting vocals. Roger Waters will forever be known for his genius lyrics. And Gilmour for his guitar skills and memorable melodies.

The guitarist was a late joiner to the band. But the influence he had in the band was very significant. Gilmour arrived in the band shortly before the vocalist Barrett. Not only did he influence the band, but he also shaped the whole rock world.

David was supposed to be a replacement. And even his contributions were least compared to other bandmates. But still, he worked his way out and that made the band a dream psychedelic band of all people. The lead songwriter was Roger Waters in the band. While he was the primary songwriter, here are some of the best songwriting from Gilmour himself.

Pink Floyd Songs Written By David Gilmour

Comfortably Numb

The guitar solo in this song is phenomenal. Comfortably Numb is something that will make you feel Comfortably Numb. The lyrics were written by Rogers and Gilmour wrote the whole music. The song was pretty much thought to be about drugs, but Rogers denied it all. He explained that the song was about childhood experiences, being sick, and feeling detached.

The performances of the song were also top-notch. Gilmour remembers, “It was a fantastic moment, I can tell, to be standing up on there, and Roger’s just finished singing his thing, and I’m standing there, waiting.”

“I’m in pitch darkness and no one knows I’m there yet. And Roger’s down and he finishes his line, I start mine and the big back spots and everything go on and the audience, they’re all looking straight ahead and down, and suddenly there’s all this light up there and they all sort of—their heads all lift up and there’s this thing up there and the sound’s coming out and everything.

Every night there’s this sort of ‘[gasp!]’ from about 15,000 people. And that’s quite something, let me tell you”

Wish You Were Here

The 12-string intro, the acoustic solo, the lyrics, everything about this song is perfect. The way the guitar cries in the background of the song is everything. Also, Gilmour’s lead vocal with wistful emotion is beautiful. Gilmour knows the pain of losing someone and wrote one of the greatest songs to relieve the pain.

It’s a song inspired by former bandmate Syd Barrett. The way he feels toward him is reflected in the song. His recollection of how his friend has faded away and still wished he was here, is a true bliss to listen to.

Dogs

The song is all about the ferociousness of capitalism. The song captures and delivers the story of business people who abuse their power. While there are others starving, those same people get richer and more powerful using the helpless, or what we can call the ‘Sheep’.

The song is from their 1977 album Animals and is considered one of their greatest achievements. From the collaboration between David and Rogers, the song is a glorious one with gorgeous solos and great stretch from guitars.

Time

From the album The Dark Side of the Moon, Time is a song with one of David’s greatest solos. With a funky feeling, Gilmour who sings the verses has turned this one song into a roaring one. It is one of his strongest vocal performances. It also has to be one of their most depressing songs with the highlights of real life.

Time is the most valuable detail in the world. And Time is everything that happens every second, and that’s the reason we have to value it. That’s Gilmour’s message in the song.

Breathe

Again from The Dark Side of the Moon, the song is a hazy mix of guitar and keyboards. The song has a great mood and is one song that can make us feel things. The story behind the song is also very deep. It’s an elderly talking to a baby, asking him to breathe. He also, describes the world that one day the baby will have to face as an adult.

Gilmour’s vocals are wonderful in the song. It was also written alongside Rogers Waters and Richard Wright. Gilmour’s peak can be seen in this song.

Fearless

Written by Gilmour and Waters, this is more on the softer side of Pink Floyd. Included in the album Meddle in 1971, this was often overshadowed by ‘One of These Days’ and ‘Echoes’.

It stands as one of the record’s best songs. The steadily building guitar and the vocals are awesome. Also, the sound of the chorus is a total pleasure to listen to. It has perceived the greatness of Pink Floyd’s glory.

Charlie Watts was undoubtedly one of the greatest drummers of this generation. The whole approach to song and the way of drums was all shared from the love of classic Blues and Rock n’ Roll. Not only he but also the former drummer of Led Zeppelin’s John Bonham shared the same passion until his death in 1980.

Charlie Watts has influenced many generations of musicians all over the world. While talking about the Rock and Roll musicians and the Blues influences. He shared, “A lot of white bands to me are vastly overrated. I say white bands because most of the music I love to play on record is by black American musicians, 40s and 50s stuff.”

“When white musicians did get hold of the blues, they seemed compelled to expand it in all directions: Led Zeppelin, Cream, 15-minute versions of Crossroads. The Stones never did. Zeppelin was amazing. Just the sound of Bonham and Jimmy Page was an amazing sound in itself, without anything else. And then you had the fact that they were bloody good players.” This was in an interview with Classic Rock magazine back in 2012.

Bonham was one of the very last members to join Led Zeppelin. When The Yard birds went on its way, Jimmy was looking for a new set of musicians. He soon found a singer named Robert Plant and offered him the space. But still, there was a place for a drummer, and that was when Robert suggested his old drummer John Bonham. Plant remembered in Led Zeppelin in Their Own Words, “I got so enthusiastic that I hitched back to Oxford and chased after John, got him to one side at a gig and said, ‘Look mate, you’ve got to join.'”

Also in an interview with Rolling Stone back in 2005, Charlie was asked about John Bonham and others. He answered, “I think they would if they wanted to (..). There’s no reason why they shouldn’t if people turn up to see them. There are guys in our road crew who can do what I do. They see me play every night. It’s like Buddy Rich — his roadie used to do all the rehearsals with the band. The greatest thing, I suppose, is the combination of the four of us.”

“The Stones is that. Technical ability is another thing. It’s like the Who. They’ve had some fine drummers. They’ve got one now — Ringo Starr’s son Zak. He’s great. He’s not Keith Moon. That was a personality. Pete Townshend and Keith — they were fantastically mad, the pair of them, onstage. John Bonham was the same as Led Zeppelin — it was a sound, thunderous. And you couldn’t have Cream without Ginger Baker.”

Legendary drummer Charlie Watts died at the age of 80, a year ago in August. The news was heart-shattering. The official statement about his death stated, “It is with immense sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Charlie Watts. He passed away peacefully in a London hospital earlier today surrounded by his family.”

“Charlie was a cherished husband, father, and grandfather and also a member of The Rolling Stones one of the greatest drummers of his generation. We kindly request the privacy of his family, band members, and close friends be respected at this difficult time.”

The 60s and the only name everyone spits is The Beatles. There is not really anything that The Beatles haven’t really achieved in their career, even though it was only for a decade. With so many career-defining albums in their name, they surely made history leaving behind well-deserved records.

The Beatles simply did everything. They broke records, created history, and integrated many people with Eastern Hindu philosophy, and whatnot. John, Paul, George, and Ringo became a big deal for it, and it was worth it. Their contribution towards songwriting and development of the lyrics and tunes were exceptional and of different approaches.

This also summoned problems within the band. The Beatles with such massive popularity didn’t help the band later on in their career. Instead, this stopped them from progressing as a band and as musicians. George Harrison explained, “We became popular, and all this stuff happened where we sang the same songs a lot, we still had a laugh, it was still good fun though, But you know the-that side of it, of playing like as a musician lost the edge there because we just played the same tunes that we play recorded, go around the world singing the same ten songs and every year, we’d lose one and add a new one, and it got a bit boring being fab.”

George was the soul of the band. Early in their career, he would spend most of his time fiddling around John and Paul. Later on after their album Revolver, he really found his footing and started contributing more than before. He would always go on as a moral master of the band. He was surely underrated in the band but his solo career was very successful. He also wrote a song for the band and on top of that he invented a musical chord.

George had a certain enlightenment after ‘Revolver’ and ‘Rubber Soul’ was released. He felt that it had changed the band to some extent. He said, “We just became more conscious of so many things,” He continued, “We even listened deeper, somehow. That’s when I really enjoyed getting creative with the music-not just with my guitar playing and songwriting but with everything we did as a band, including the songs that the others wrote. It all deepened and became more meaningful.”

Harrison always struggled to complete his track in comparison to his bandmates. He went on to write about it, made conceptual sketches, and eventually a song. He transformed his frustration into music. ‘I Want To Tell You‘ is the song, and while it may not be that appealing work of Harrison but it is surely noteworthy.

This song was the third song on Revolver and this was only a stepping stone for him. e had moved forward with everything in general from sound to conceptualization. Also, he invented a chord. Back in 1992 while speaking with  Guitar world he said, “I’m really pleased that you noticed that. That’s an E7th with an F on the top, played on the piano. I’m really proud of that, because I literally invented that chord.”

He continued, “The song was about the frustration we all feel about trying to communicate certain things with just words. I realized the chords I knew at the time just didn’t capture that feeling. So after I got the guitar riff, I experimented until I came up with this dissonant chord that really echoed that sense of frustration.”

He also says it wasn’t the only time that chord was used. He notes, “John later borrowed it on Abbey Road. If you listen to ‘I Want You (She’s So Heavy),’ it’s right after John sings ‘it’s driving me mad!’ To my knowledge, there’s only been one other song where somebody copped that chord—’ Back on the Chain Gang’ by the Pretenders.”

‘I Want To Tell You’ is still a great song with a perfectly blended melody. Be sure to listen to it on any major music platform.

Foo Fighter’s frontman, Dave Grohl is the coolest person in the rock scene. He totally lives for his craft, and even breathes it. Despite being the rocker he is, he has considered himself a ‘diehard Metallica fan until the day he dies’.

Back in 2017, just weeks before the new release of Foo Fighters‘ album and the launch of a supporting world tour, Dave was seen in Metallica’s show. The Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl stood among the crowd in the Metallica ‘snake pit’ at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena California.

Grohl has been a massive fan of Metallica for a very long time. He explained that he is a longtime Metallica listener. He also told in an interview, “I bought the first Metallica album on cassette from a mail-order catalog,” Grohl said. “I had never heard of them… and the description said, ‘thrash metal.’ That sounded scary and cool. So I sent them my $6 or $7 and a couple weeks later, I get this tape in the mail. It was Kill ‘Em All, and it blew my f****** mind.”

dave grohl goes metallica concert

Also in another interview when asked what keeps him grounded. He said, “Having children that don’t give a f*ck if you’re a rock star. My kids don’t give a shit I’m in The Foo Fighters, like daddy, I need a smoothie now”.

Dave is just the coolest person as a rockstar. Despite him being a star he still considers himself a fan of another fellow metal band. He will sing as loud as he can, break his leg at a show and keep going and so much more.
